We decided it would be best to have a Drama student playing the girl as she is the main character. We wanted her to have very dark brown hair, possibly even black. The girl we chose was Louise. We made sure she knew the song well and the band itself. She is fortunately a fan of Paramore so we didn't need to educate her much further about them. She already owns the type of clothes we wanted her to wear which was also very fortunate.
Chosing the boy was much harder as the only boy in the Drama class was not willing to be in the music video.We then asked boys who looked suitable for the part. We were thinking about using Jordan, who we were previously working with, as he was very willing to act. However we thought he didn't look the part enough, as we were hoping for someone with long hair but Jordan had recently had his hair cut very short. We then chose Jack, who we feel fits the part perfectly. There are no male lyrics so he doesn't need to mime any of the words.
Costume:
The girl from Paramore wears quite dark and simple clothes, but can also wear very flamboyant and ostentatious clothes so she stands out. This gave us various ideas as to what Louise should wear. After a long discussion, we chose to have her wearing a different outfit in each verse and chorus. This meant she could wear dark and simple clothes but could also wear bright and loud colours.
Location:
We had orginially chosen and planned to set our music video at a warehouse in a park in Sandwich, but we then found out that it was having building work done to it. We then thought about some farm land in Ash. It's issolated so fits in with our theme and original idea.
We also thought about filming in Shepherdswell, it's also very issolated and has a lot of woodland. We then decided against this idea as it was too far away from my house and even further for Nicole.
