Allmusic: 3.5/5 stars
Kerrang!: 2/5 stars

- Gold certification
- Peaked at number 2 in Billboard Comprehensive Albums in 2005
- Peaked at number 51 in UK Albums Chart in 2010
"This album is an extremely strong debut, although it is a shame that it has been out for around a year. In general, the band has a strong punk/scene sound typical to their label. The first song is a strong, loud wake up call perfectly suited to its position on the album. From there, the record continues with more upbeat tunes like Pressure and Brighter. Later tracks like Conspiracy and Franklin provide a darker contrast to preceding songs."
"The band’s overall sound is quite upbeat and not at all depressing. All of the band’s members do their part extremely well: the drummer’s fills are on time and crisp while the guitarists keep up with the frequently changing rhythms with ease."

Jason Lymangrover of Allmusic gave the album 4 out of 5 stars and commented that, "Ultimately, this disc has enormous crossover potential, and will probably appeal to those who are fans of the genre, and for those who aren't, there's a good chance of it becoming a guilty pleasure."
Gareth Dobson of Drowned in Sound gave the album 4 out of 10 stars and said, "At 38 minutes long, it's mercifully brief, but still manages to feel like a double album for those who endure it. That is, those who don't manage to forget that it's on the stereo at all. People, get your pop-punk thrills somewhere else. At least somewhere where there are actual thrills to be had."

Alternative Press awarded the album 4.5/5 and Scott Heisel praised the improvement of the album over its predecessor; "Riot! was ridiculously top-loaded, with an unmemorable second half.
