The Ramones album cover analysis

On this album cover, the band The Ramones show attitude in several ways. The most obvious being the way they are stood. With them leaning on the wall with their hands in their pockets shows clear attitude. They are all wearing jeans and leather jackets which could be seen as intimidating along with their facial expressions. They all have messy or scruffy hair which indicates that they do not care what is thought of them. The wall they are stood against looks old and quite frail. The bottom half of the wall is covered in graffiti, highlighting that the area in which they come from is urban and lower class. The band name is very bold, with the size and the font. It is also written in capitals, which makes it stand out further. It is not written perfectly with correct alinement. This is to also add to the messy look the rest of the cover has.
There is a lot of light from the picture as it is black and white. The contrast has been inceased to make their outfits and hair darker and their skin a brighter white. This could be seen as a ghostly image to add more fear from the audience.
