There are various conventions of punk rock that are specifically significant. There is firstly, attitude and rebellion. In music video's the characters are often acting inappropriately, offending the other characters. They have a careless attitude, ignoring what other people say and think.
In a large amount of punk rock songs a relationship is involved. In the music video the relationship tends to be with the lead singer of the band and another character.
The videos are usually fast pace within editing and the narrative. With the constant scene changes, the audience continues to be drawn in throughout the entire video.
The characters in the video are shown to be alone, either by choice or because other people leave them out/bully them. This can be seen as either upsetting or disturbing to the viewers depending on how extreme the themes are.
